Operator: Andrey Greshnyakov, self-employed. Contact: admin@tentowl.com
1. The service
TentOwl (tentowl.com) is a free, community-maintained map of places for tent camping and self-sufficient travel. Anyone can add a place or mark a visit without registering.
2. Your contributions
By submitting a place, description, photo or visit, you confirm that: to the best of your knowledge it is accurate; you have the right to share it (in particular, any photo you upload); and it does not include other people’s personal data without their consent.
3. Moderation
Every contribution is reviewed by a moderator before it is published, and may be rejected, edited, or later unpublished or deleted at the operator’s discretion. The author sees the reason for a rejection or unpublishing in “My places” if they submitted from the same browser or while signed in; we do not send separate notifications. What we publish and why we may decline is explained in the community rules. If you disagree with a decision, write to us and name the place — a moderator will take another look.
4. Reports
Any visitor can report a problem with a community place — for example, if it is dangerous, closed or on private land. A report does not hide the place automatically: a moderator reviews it and decides what to do. The person who sent the report is not told the outcome. Knowingly false or mass reports are prohibited; we limit how often reports can be sent and may leave such reports unreviewed. Errors in points from OpenStreetMap are fixed in OpenStreetMap itself — the card of such a point links to it.
5. No warranty; use at your own risk
The information on this map — including location accuracy, whether overnight stays are legal at a particular place, and current conditions — is provided “as is”, is submitted by third parties and is not checked against the law of any jurisdiction. You alone are responsible for making sure that staying overnight at any place is legal and safe before you do so. The operator is not liable for any damage, injury, fines or other consequences resulting from your use of this information.
6. License to your content
By submitting content, you grant the operator a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to publish, display and distribute that content as part of the service.
7. Prohibited content
You must not submit: other people’s personal data without their consent; advertising or spam; knowingly false information; places where public access is expressly prohibited by law.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Russian Federation, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the law of your country of residence.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; the version published at this address is always the one in effect.
