Data sources
What data the TentOwl map (tentowl.com) uses and on what terms.
Terrain
Hillshading and the 3D mode are built from Mapzen/Tilezen elevation data (terrain tiles, AWS Open Data, the elevation-tiles-prod dataset). The attribution below is quoted verbatim from the Tilezen document.

Base map
The base map uses Protomaps vector tiles in the Protomaps Basemap schema. TentOwl stores them and serves them from its own server. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under ODbL 1.0. The outdoor points layer (springs, drinking water, campsites, huts, shelters, viewpoints and more) is built by TentOwl from the same OpenStreetMap data with Planetiler; the same ODbL license applies to it. The same credit is shown on the map itself.
The map style is based on Protomaps Basemaps (BSD 3-Clause license). Icons: Mapzen Tangrams (MIT) and openstreetmap-carto (CC0 1.0); fonts: Noto Sans (SIL Open Font License 1.1).
Map search
Place and address search results are © OpenStreetMap contributors data, licensed under ODbL 1.0, found through the Photon geocoder (komoot, based on OpenStreetMap data).
Community places
Places, descriptions, photos and “I was here” check-ins on the map are contributed by TentOwl users and are moderated. See the Terms of use.
External layer (OpenStreetMap)
The layer is not on yet. When it is, it will contain places from OpenStreetMap: they are stored separately from community places and have not been checked by the TentOwl community.
Data about places in the external layer © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. Mistakes in this data are fixed in OpenStreetMap itself.
